ABSTRACT
Tripartite motif 16 (TRIM16), a member of the RING B-box coiled-coil (RBCC)/tripartite totif (TRIM) protein family, has been demonstrated to have significant effects on tumor migration by previous studies, but its specific contribution hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is currently unknown. The aim this study was evaluate prognostic value TRIM16 and investigate functional roles in HCC. expression HCC patient samples were examined using qRT-PCR western blotting. cell lines with either overexpression or knockdown established. effect invasion investigated these cells. Compared paired normal liver tissues clinical cancer samples, we found that significantly downregulated lesions. We also promoted epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) manner associated metastasis vitro vivo. Mechanistically, inhibited ZEB2 expression, which turn transcription pivotal target gene E-cadherin. RNA interference-mediated silencing attenuated shTRIM16-enhanced invasion. In conclusion, our findings define as an inhibitor EMT predicts poor outcomes.
