ABSTRACT
Invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma (IMA), formerly referred to as bronchioloalveolar carcinoma, is a rare variant form of invasive and radiologically characterized by dense pneumonic consolidation, ground-glass opacity nodules. By contrast, large, thin-walled cysts are rare. We herein report the case 75-year-old man with IMA presenting irregularly shaped cystic lesion. The histological diagnosis was based on specimens obtained during bronchoscopy. patient underwent lobectomy followed anticancer chemotherapy for residual intrapulmonary metastases. Of note, small metastatic nodules transformed into lesions thin walls fused, forming multiloculated Typical consolidation appeared in pericystic parenchyma later clinical course. available literature this radiological manifestation also reviewed discussed. Clinicians should be aware they may an unusual finding IMA.
