ABSTRACT
Human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) is a critical factor in unlimited cell proliferation and immortalization, with numerous studies demonstrating that high expression of hTERT poor prognostic various types cancer. Ubiquitin‑conjugating enzyme E2D 3 (UBE2D3) member the E2 family, participates ubiquitin proteasome pathway to regulate basic cellular activities, such as cycle control, DNA damage response, apoptosis, tumorigenesis. Our previous study initially determined downregulation UBE2D3 increases proliferation, however, association between these two proteins their functions cancer tissues remains unknown. Therefore, protein levels were evaluated 150 esophageal 30 adjacent healthy tissue samples by performing immunohistochemical analysis. Concurrently, clinicopathological data enrolled patients obtained allow correlation It was identified significantly higher compared (P=0.015), lower than (P=0.001). Additionally, demonstrated upregulated poorly‑differentiated, advanced tumor‑node‑metastasis (TNM) stage (P<0.05 for all), downregulated lymph node invaded recurrent cases. also traditional factors, including tumor location, T stage, status, TNM molecular factors UBE2D3, associated overall survival time all). Furthermore, status location independent multivariate Most notably, negatively correlated each other. In conclusion, findings present indicated appear be involved development cancer, may positive are inversely correlated.
