ABSTRACT
The aim of the present study was to identify potential prognostic microRNA (miRNA) biomarkers for colon adenocarcinoma (COAD) prediction using dataset Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). genome‑wide miRNA sequencing and corresponding COAD clinical information were downloaded from TCGA. Prognosis‑related screening performed by multivariable Cox regression analysis used signature construction. Ten miRNAs (hsa‑mir‑891a, hsa‑mir‑6854, hsa‑mir‑216a, hsa‑mir‑378d‑1, hsa‑mir‑92a‑1, hsa‑mir‑4709, hsa‑mir‑92a‑2, hsa‑mir‑210, hsa‑mir‑940 hsa‑mir‑887) identified as further 10‑miRNA showed good performance in prognosis (adjusted P<0.0001; adjusted hazard ratio, 4.580; 95% confidence interval, 2.783‑7.538). In time‑dependent receiver operating characteristic analysis, area under curve 0.735, 0.788, 0.806, 0.775 0.900 1‑, 2‑, 3‑, 4‑, 5‑ 10‑year overall survival prediction, respectively. Comprehensive suggested that is an independent factor COAD, with a better than other traditional parameters. Functional enrichment indicated target genes significantly enriched multiple biological processes pathways, including regulation cell proliferation, cycle, growth, Wnt transforming growth factor‑β signaling pathways. conclusion, our expression may serve biomarker patients.
