ABSTRACT
Objective To assess the construct validity of novel Outcome Measures in Rheumatology (OMERACT) ultrasound (US) semiquantitative scoring system for morphological lesions major salivary glands by comparing it with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and unstimulated whole flow rates (U-WSFRs) patients primary Sjögren syndrome (pSS). Methods Nine sonographers applied OMERACT 0-3 grayscale parotid (PGs) submandibular (SMGs) 11 pSS who also had MRIs performed. These were evaluated 2 radiologists using a lesions. The agreement between US MRI association U-WSFRs structural was determined. A score ≥ both defined as gland pathology. Results prevalence 58% PGs 76% SMGs, 46% 41% respectively, MRI. scores 73-91% (median 82%) right PG 91%) left PG, 55-91% 55%) SMG 55-82% SMG. When relations presence hyposalivation an examined, 91-100% 83%) 67%) SMGs. Conclusion There is moderate to strong pSS. Similar ratios observed higher hyposalivation.
