ABSTRACT
Xanthagaricus pakistanicus is described as a new species from lowland northern Pakistan, based on morphological and molecular data. It characterized by yellowish pileus, covered with dark brown squamules, stipe fibrils, globose basidiospores, pileal squamules made up of pseudoparenchymatous epithelium encrusted walls. Molecular phylogenetic trees were inferred nucleotide sequences the internal transcribed spacer (ITS1-5.8S-ITS2) region 28S nuclear ribosomal DNA. In analyses genus Hymenagaricus sensu lato (s. l.) was nonmonophyletic group recovered in two monophyletic clades, consisting genera stricto str.). On account squamule structure (pseudoparenchymatous epithelium) position clade X. belongs to Xanthagaricus. Morphoanatomical comparison known provided. We also six combinations Xanthagaricus: calicutensis, epipastus, ochraceoluteus, rufomarginatus, subaeruginosus, taiwanensis. With this study number increases 19.
