ABSTRACT
The BIM paradigm, supplied by appropriate standards like IFC, became unavoidable in recent construction projects. Several applications (e.g. indoor navigation, energy analysis ...) find it a source of information on which they can rely. However, practices reveal that models are not always directly reliable for and the latter have to ensure validity data their own. In case calculations will highly rely IfcSpace objects describing rooms, addition spatial relationships with surrounding components. Unfortunately, is common face IFC contain wrong geometric topological description. this paper, authors discuss issues related validation navigation. Furthermore, present method generate valid spaces models. approach relies structural components building (walls, slabs, etc.) uses operations, supported combinatorial map structure, produce watertight space volumes.
