ABSTRACT
This paper presents an experimental study on engine control strategy during gear shifting for a Unimog U4000 equipped with automated mechanical transmission (AMT) based the controller area network (CAN) bus. First, integrated powertrain system CAN bus is introduced. Second, ideal AMT process described, and proposed. Then, communication information unit (ECU) (TCU) determined SAE J1939 protocol. Finally, effectiveness verified by results. The results show that: can meet requirement real-time operation; presented in this achieve good shift quality shorter time less vehicle speed loss.
