ABSTRACT
For normal healthy teeth, the percussive energy generated by mastication is attenuated periodontal ligament at bone/natural tooth interface. However, when a natural must be replaced an implant because of damage or disease, lost and will transmit forces to bone directly. Studies have evaluated deformation distribution alveolar in vicinity implants using finite element analysis photoelasticity. requires clinical verification determination material properties, photoelastic materials generally properties structure quite different from those actual bone. Therefore, this study examined around dental cortical/cancellous experimentally sawbone models. Dental were placed models displacement was measured digital image correlation method, strain visualized under compressive load that simulated occlusion force.
