ABSTRACT
The rigid nature of ramie hairiness on fabrics cause severe itching feeling, which limited the application requiring for direct contact to skin. Current modification methods are ineffective, expensive or harmful main body fabric. In our research, a low temperature softening method in NaOH, urea, glycerol, and Na 2 B 4 O 7 treatment bath was developed proven be efficient lowering stiffness scratchiness without significant adverse effect fabric strength. Since it is possible reuse chemical agents, this relatively cheap environmentally friendly.
