ABSTRACT
The morphology and structure of Broussonetia papyrifera(BP) bast fiber were investigated by SEM, OM, FT-IR X-ray analysis, chemical composition BP was analyzed. results show that the cellulose content in can be as high 63.76%. fibers arrange parallel bast, which are linked pection. cross-section PB irregular round with lumens almost invisible completely mature fibers. crystallinity could reach 83.26%. Most impurities such hemi-cellulose, lignin, pectin effectively removed degumming, while cellulosic is not changed. has good mechanical properties, but single too short to spin alone.
