ABSTRACT
The influence of He/O2 atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ) treatment on subsequent wet desizing polyarylate PET fabrics was studied in present paper. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) and Scanning electron (SEM) showed an increased surface roughness after the treatment. SEM also that fiber surfaces were as clean unsized fibers 35 s followed by NaHCO3 desizing. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis indicated oxygen-based functional groups for treated polyacrylate sized fabrics. Compared to conventional desizing, could significantly reduce time.
