ABSTRACT
High strength steel sections have been increasingly used in buildings and bridges, angles also widely many structures, especially transmission towers long span trusses. However, high exhibits mechanical properties that are quite different from ordinary steel, hence, the local buckling behavior of equal angle members under axial compression varies with strength. there is a lack research on relationship A finite element model developed this paper to analyze compression, study its width-to-thickness ratio leg. The analysis (FEA) results compared corresponding design method American code AISC 360-05, which provides reference for related design.
