ABSTRACT
Particle reinforced metal matrix composites (SiCp/Al composites) have proved to be extremely difficult machine with traditional cutting processes due serious tool-wear and high machining cost, which lead the low efficiency. This paper presents results of an experimental research on mill-grinding SiC particle aluminum composites. Based Taguchi design method, study material removal rate was carried out gain optimal processing parameters combination by using analysis S/N ratio. The detailed effect wheel speed through single factor experiment also studied. Though ratio variance, depth cut has greatest rate, followed feed rate. And grinding least it. But affect nonlinearly. In range applied, gained is A2B3C3, namely, vs=11.77m/s, vw=100mm/min, ap=0.8mm. Material increased at first then there a decreasing trend increasing speed.
