ABSTRACT
Effect of functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) on the interfacial properties ramie fiber/polylactic acid (PLA) matrix was studied. Ramie fibers were respectively covered by pristine MWCNT, carboxyl MWCNT and hydroxide through simple dip coating method. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) results showed that all kinds distributed fiber surface at random with some aggregations. Compared to coated a water contact angle 84.5 degree, made more hydrophobic. Polarization indicated functional could provide nucleation form intact crystalline structure PLA surface. Micro-bond tests had no significant effect shear strength (IFSS).
