ABSTRACT
Lanthanum strontium manganite (LSM) and yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) composite is a promising material as an anode for solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC) applications. In this study, LSM/YSZ with 1:1 LSM to YSZ weight ratio was synthesized via state reaction method using precursors of commercial micrograined size varying precursor grain size. For the precursor, both nanograined (nanoYSZ) (microYSZ) were studied. Graphite added at 10% pore former. Density measurements Archimedes principle revealed that LSM/nanoYSZ had highest relative density 97.8%, whereas graphite lowest 89.1%. The addition reduced by 8.7% compared decrease 5.5% LSM/microYSZ. Scanning electron microscopy confirms has greater effect on microstructure electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results show samples nanoYSZ higher total conductivity than microYSZ. values 0.0470 Scm -1 0.0440 700 °C activation energies 0.0178 eV 0.0234 eV, respectively.
