ABSTRACT
Abstract The in vitro histamine release by washed leukocytes from rabbits immunized to produce reagin specific for the benzyl penicillolyl (BPO) and 2,4 dinitrophenyl (DNP) haptenic groups was studied. animals were one of (DNP or BPO) both BPO). divalent univalent haptens used initiate bis-DNP-octamethylenediamine (di-DNP), DNP-n-octylamine (uniDNP), bis-BPO-octamethylenediamine (diBPO), BPO-n-octylamine (uniBPO) N-DNP,N-BPO, octamethylenediamine (mixed BPO-DNP). data indicate that 1) specificities is on majority basophils DNP BPO; 2) basophil surface not grouped specificity; 3) internal bridging between two Fab pieces a single reaginic antibody molecule probably basic mechanism which released; 4) hapten must bridge membrane bound another point away order be initiated.
