ABSTRACT
Three monoclonal antibodies, 1-7 (gamma 2b), 3-5 1), and 8-30 (mu), specific to Fc epsilon receptors (Fc R) on human B cells were established. The two monoclonals (1-7 8-30) could inhibit the binding of IgE R in rosette formation assays, as well FACS analysis, shown recognize same epitope R. other antibody (3-5) recognized molecule but a different epitope, marginally inhibited binding. molecules RPMI 8866 by these antibodies had Mr 46,000 25,000 30,000 daltons determined immunoprecipitation SDS-PAGE analysis. By employing expression circulating lymphocytes was studied. Approximately 50% from normal, nonatopic individuals found express R, remarkable increase observed atopic patients. not detected T patients (including hyper syndrome) normal individuals. Incubation with PHA-conditioned medium plus augmented R+ cell population R- population. did induce cells.
