ABSTRACT
Observations on maternal recognition of the fetus and demonstration effects cytokines reproductive events led to "immunotrophism" model, which suggests that immune fetally-derived Ags results in release promote growth placenta; any disturbance this balance could result deleterious consequences for placenta and, turn, fetus. We have focused our attention murine CBA/J x DBA/2 model spontaneous abortions compared them with normal CBA BALB/c pregnancies. Our indicate extent stimulation strain lymphocytes response stimulator placental cells mixed lymphocyte-placenta reactions (MLPR) was much higher mating combination abortion-prone combination. Cytokine analysis supernatants from MLPR indicates there is significantly production TNF-alpha, IFN-gamma, IL-2 than Furthermore, MLPR-stimulated induce resorptions pregnant mice; stimulated by placentas high rates fetal resorptions, but do not. Together, these suggest immunologically mediated probably improper or inappropriate responses Ags. observations also such are cytokines.
