Follow-up of the Development of Femoral Degeneration Lesions in Broilers

A study was carried out in the experimental facilities of FMVZ/UNESP-Botucatu, with aim following-up development and incidence femoral degeneration (FD).A total 305 one-day-old male broilers were housed six pens 5m 2 each.Histological analyses femur head collected when 0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 42 days age out.At age, 30 birds taken to processing plant FMVZ for leg gross examination.Ten legs per FD score where selected, histologically analyzed determine most probable at beginning lesions, standardize lesion scores.The histological results showed that cell architecture started disorganize 21 resting proliferation zones, angiogenesis increased, invading joint cartilage, The indexes due 22.5%, 42.5%, 65% respectively.
