ABSTRACT
Proboscideans are megamammals widely recorded in South America Quaternary deposits, especially Brazil, where many specimens were found tanks and caves. In tank the fossil remains usually recognized as adult individuals, although highly fragmented. The records of immature proboscideans rare, consisting isolated teeth jaw fragments, from deposits. Here we describe a new rare occurrence an proboscidean — second upper left deciduous premolar (DP2) Notiomastodon cf. platensis Pernambuco state, Brazil. This record increases number individuals known for contributes to understanding frequency geographic distribution America.
