ABSTRACT
Alpacas (Vicugna pacos) are domesticated camelids indigenous to south America and recently also bred in Europe Italy for their high quality wool. There is little data available regarding the innervation of male reproductive tract this species. In present study, distribution protein gene product 9.5 (PGP 9.5), neuropeptide Y (NPY), tyrosine hydroxilase (TH), calcitonin related peptide (CGRP) substance P (SP) was analyzed epididymis by using immunohistochemical methods. Specimens caput, corpus cauda were fixed Bouin's fluid processed immunohistochemistry analysis with primary antibodies against PGP 9.5, NPY, TH, CGRP SP. Immunopositivity TH NPY observed nerve fibre bundles single fibres contained into peritubular connective tissue. Many immunopositive cells found innervate blood vessels. Rare SP nerves observed. Several 9,5 epithelial caput epididymis. The results study suggest a role innervations modulate functions alpaca
