ABSTRACT
Objective: To investigate the risk of major congenital malformations associated with exposure to second-generation antipsychotics (SGAs) in first trimester.Methods: Pregnant women who received consultation on drug from Japan Drug Information Institute Pregnancy October 2005 December 2016 were asked complete a questionnaire at 1 month after expected delivery date. The included items pregnancy outcome, date delivery, gestational age infant that confirmed by pediatrician's report, and following parameters birth: height, weight, head circumference, chest circumference. Odds ratios (ORs) for among live-born children pregnant SGA during trimester (SGA group) relative not exposed SGAs medications known be teratogenic (comparison estimated using an inverse probability treatment weighting approach.Results: Of 404 trimester, there 351 live births, 3 stillbirths, 34 spontaneous abortions, 16 elective abortions. rate was 0.9% (3/351) group 1.8% (70/3,899) comparison group. No statistically significant differences observed adjusted OR (adjusted = 0.44; 95% CI, 0.12-1.48; P .179).Conclusions: is increased malformations. These findings might reassuring require SGAs.
