ABSTRACT
Background: The hemodynamic response to laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation is of concern in diabetic patients. They usually have underlying coronary cerebrovascular disease which may lead catastrophes during anesthesia. Materials Methods: Seventy controlled 70 non-diabetic patients were allocated four groups. Esmolol 1 mg/kg study groups normal saline control was infused slowly over min. Later all induced with propofol 2 rocuronium 0.6 mg/kg. SBP, DBP, HR, SpO recorded every minute after for 10 Results: In esmolol (NDE) (DE) group we observed increase heart rate (HR), systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic (DBP), more DE compared NDE group, but non-significant (P > 0.05). (NDC) (DC) there significant = < 0.05) DBP first mins when base line values. Rise marked DC than NDC group. Blood glucose measured shows no difference among both Conclusion: low dose fentanyl a near ideal drug attenuating pressor diabetics.
