ABSTRACT
Background: Various histopathological changes have been observed following neoadjuvant chemotherapy in individual tumors the literature. Aims and Objectives: To observe histopathologic seen after breast malignancies, squamous cell carcinomas, adenocarcinomas, Wilms′ tumor using cancer predominantly as model. Materials Methods: The present prospective study was carried out on 60 patients including 40 with carcinoma 20 other malignancies who received chemotherapy. Results: Post chemotherapy, mastectomy specimens revealed nuclear enlargement, shrinkage, necrosis, vacuolation of nucleus, cytoplasm, dyscohesion, shrinkage cells nonviability like karyorrhexis, karyolysis, pyknosis. Stromal reactions manifested fibrosis, elastosis, collagenization, hyalinization, microcalcification, neovascularization. Areas necrosis included both vascular avascular pattern. stroma also fibrinoid mucinous change. Hyalinization blood vessel wall a common finding. most inflammatory host response lymphocytic; others mixed inflammation, plasmacytic, prominent histiocytic, giant types. Giant reaction significantly correlated to all types responses (P < 0.05). Similar were malignancies. A detailed review literature has done presented.
