ABSTRACT
Background: To prove the position of aripiprazole as a preventive and safe agent in delirium patients admitted to intensive care unit (ICU), it is necessary conduct randomized controlled clinical trials with appropriate design. Materials Methods: In this study, 80 were randomly divided into two groups 40. Group A received placebo mart for one week, group B 15 mg daily (dissolved 10 cc) daily. As criterion assessing delirium, Confusion Assessment methods ICU (CAM-ICUs) evaluated patients. At end trends CAM-ICU changes on day 7 compared between groups. All statistical tests performed domains significance level 5% using t -test. Statistical Package Social Sciences (SPSS) 21 software was used analyze data. Results: The use studied indices not statistically significant ( P > 0.05). results related length stay ICU, showed that although has reduced hospitalization rate reduction, Conclusion: approach reducing risk or controlling occurrence unit, despite creating some beneficial effects such hospital cannot be clearly significantly effective.
