ABSTRACT
Mammalian testis exhibits remarkably high transcriptome complexity, and spermatogenesis undergoes two periods of transcriptional cessation. These make the RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) utmost importance during male germ cell development. Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs) are a large family RBPs implicated in many steps RNA processing; however, their roles largely unknown. Here, we investigated expression pattern 12 hnRNP members mouse testes found that most detected highly expressed testis. Furthermore, (hnRNPD, hnRNPK, hnRNPQ, hnRNPU, hnRNPUL1) display highest signals nuclei pachytene spermatocytes, round spermatids, Sertoli cells, whereas hnRNPE1 exclusively concentrates manchette elongating spermatids. The these showed both similarities specificity, suggesting diverse spermatogenesis.
