ABSTRACT
The objective of this study is to compare the antimicrobial efficacy triple antibiotic paste (TAP) and a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) (omeprazole) in combination with calcium hydroxide (CH) against Enterococcus faecalis Candida albicans.E. C. albicans were subcultured inoculated at 37° overnight treated different dilutions TAP, 25 μg/ml (Group 1), CH 2, control), 16 mg/ml + omeprazole 2 3a) (CH 4 mg)/ml 3b) for 24, 48, 72 h sterile uncoated 96-well microtiter plates. Minimum concentration which medicaments produced least optical density was determined using ELISA reader (ELx 808 BioTek Inc., USA) device set 630 nm. Results analyzed statistically by one-way analysis variance followed Tukey's multiple comparison tests. significance level 0.05.Mean (irrespective time) TAP mean minimum recorded 1.25 (1:20 dilution) (0 E. albicans, respectively. Least plus PPI group obtained 1.6 (1:10 However, alone showed weaker action either strains even full concentration.PPI enhanced antibacterial albicans. best property PPIs both selected strains.
