Abstract
Social media platforms are increasingly utilized by healthcare professionals (HCPs) to enhance information sharing and engagement with patients, particularly evident during the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, social media platforms have transformed the dynamics of patient–practitioner relationships, attributing to patients’ enhanced understanding of health information and increased participation in managing their health. This review outlines social media’s impact in medical education for students, patient engagement, and research dissemination. This overview serves as a resource on social media’s multifaceted roles for medical learners, educators, and healthcare professionals.
