ABSTRACT
Background: New surgeons/fellows always struggle to handle diabetic vitrectomies, and this video tries briefly explain with demonstrations simple analogies the basics of same. Purpose: To demonstrate maneuvers, procedures, some tips help students learn vitrectomy. Synopsis: Diabetic vitrectomies are known be difficult due various reasons including but not limited poor visualization, difficulty in removing adherent membranes increasing chances iatrogenic breaks, PVD induction, increased bleeding, systemic comorbidities, etc. Finding an individualized approach for every case is essential complete surgery successfully. We compile through multiple cases techniques, approaches, precautions that prove useful most patients. With modern instrumentation techniques now even which were earlier thought inoperable can offered a chance. Let hope prevail!!!. Highlights: Tips on improving visualization.
