ABSTRACT
Purpose: To evaluate the myopia risk in school-aged children one year after lifting a pandemic-related lockdown and develop tool to identify high-risk groups. Methods: In total, 38,079 without from 38 schools were included. The outcomes incidence progression 1 COVID-19 was lifted, both obtained by spherical equivalent refraction (SER). We separated population into an exploratory (75%) validation sample (25%) construct score model. Results: 9811 (29.57%) students became myopic, overall 0.22 ± 0.62 D. Even less noted pre-myopia group at baseline (All: P = 0.045, Boy: 0.005). model included seven predictors: gender, grade, SER baseline, residence, parental myopia, eye discomfort symptoms, online courses. had range of 0–46 optimal cutoff 34. area under receiver operating curve 0.726 (0.719–0.732) for 0.731 (0.720–0.742) sample. Conclusions: can serve as practical classifying children.
