ABSTRACT
Purpose: The purpose of the study is to present anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) as an alternative method evaluating Kayser–Fleischer (KF) ring in Wilson disease (WD) not only by ophthalmologists but also other clinicians dealing with WD. Materials and Methods: This was a retrospective case series six WD patients KF ring. Evaluation done naked eye examination using torch light, slit lamp biomicroscopy (SL), AS-OCT. SL narrow superior cornea. AS-OCT Optovue RTvue Premier™ device (Fremont, CA, USA). Results: revealed intense hyperreflective band at level Descemet membrane (DM). Color scale showed greenish/greenish yellow/orange yellow/yellowish/red band. Validation findings second ophthalmologist, medical gastroenterologist, surgical neurophysician. After seeing first observation, they could identify features all pictures ease. Conclusions: observation on On AS-OCT, visualized hyperreflectivity DM peripheral Further, studies are needed evaluate usefulness management.
