ABSTRACT
Purpose: To evaluate the rotational stability of toric intraocular lens (IOL) when co-implanted with a capsular tension ring (CTR) as compared to that IOL without CTR. Methods: This was prospective randomized clinical trial performed in tertiary care centre India. Fifty adult human eyes visually significant cataract and regular corneal astigmatism ≥1.5D divided into two groups 25 each, A B by simple randomization. Eyes pathology, subluxation, specular endothelial cell count <2000/mm2 were excluded from study. The both underwent standard phacoemulsification implanted IOL. In Group A, CTR put bag before implantation. called for follow-up on day 1, 1 week, month, 3 months, postoperatively. axis each visit measured slit lamp imaging retroillumination analyzed digitally. Results: Mean rotation at months postoperatively 1.85 ± 1.72° 4.02 2.04° B. difference statistically (P = 0.003). Conclusion: Coimplantation is safe effective technique ensuring better IOLs.
