ABSTRACT
Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) is a major reproductive health issue, affecting 2%-5% of couples. Genetic factors, mainly chromosomal abnormalities, are the most common cause early miscarriage accounting for 50%-60% first trimester abortion. To estimate prevalence and nature anomalies in couples with recurrent miscarriage. This study included 224 history 2 or more abortions. Both partners were karyotyped as part primary investigation. Cytogenetic analysis was carried out using standard method.A total two abortions enrolled this study. Chromosomal abnormalities detected 26 (11.6%) 28 individuals (6.25%). We found structural chromosome abnormality 17/28 patients (60.7%); 12 had reciprocal translocation (42.9%) including one patient an additional inversion Y chromosome, 4 (14.3%) Robertsonian translocation, (3.6%) paracentric 2. Numerical aberrations 5 patients; three (10.7%) sex (7.1%) marker chromosome. Six (21.4%) showed heteromorphic variant involving 9.The RPL within range reported worldwide. should become integral investigations at least losses undetermined etiology.
