ABSTRACT
Context: Conjunctiva is a transparent membrane lining the inner surface of eyelids and globe up to corneoscleral limbus. It common site for growth lesions in eye. Depending on their origin, conjunctival could be non-neoplastic neoplastic. The neoplastic are either benign or malignant. These can distinguished based patient's history, clinical presentation histopathological features. Aims: In this study, pattern excised was determined. Methods Material: This 6-year (2010–2015) retrospective study all diagnosed at Pathology Laboratory Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital. Statistical analysis used: Data were analysed with Package Social Sciences (version 20.0; SPSS, Chicago, IL, USA). Results: A total 198 during period. male patients 136 (68.70%), whereas females 62 (31.30%) male-to-female ratio 2.2:1, mean age ± standard deviation 37.69 16.39 years. nature as follows: 54 (27.3%) malignant, 61 (30.8%) pre-malignant 83 (41.9%) benign. most observed squamous cell carcinoma, dysplasia papilloma frequencies 50 (25.30%), 46 (23.20%) 24 (12.10%), respectively.
