ABSTRACT
Mulberry fruits are a superior source of polyphenol, especially anthocyanins that contribute potentially to the beneficial effects which include reducing risk cardiovascular diseases and cancers with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, chemoprotective properties. In this study, purification polyphenol-rich extract from mulberry fruit (MPE) was purified assessed activities antioxidant hemolysis protective in vivo vitro.Antioxidant vitro measured by quantifying its 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging activity, power Fe2+-chelating ability. MPE high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) analyzed individual polyphenols using chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)/MS.The total polyphenol content 147.69 ± 0.02 mg gallic acid equivalents (GAE)/g dried weight (DW) 403.55 GAE/g DW extract. Further identification HPLC-ultraviolet-visible LC-MS/MS analysis indicated MPE, an anthocyanin compound, cyanidin-3-O-glucoside. With regard assays, possessed effect, Fe2+ chelating ability IC50 value 1.016 mg/mL. The on mouse red blood cell lipid peroxidation ex were dose time dependent. It indicates could be good candidate for future biomedical applications promote human health limited side effects.Mulberry is excellent polyphenols, particular, anthocyanins, has infinite benefits. This study determined predominant anthocyanin, cyanidin-3-glucoside, possibly rationale behind antihemolytic effect MPE. Results indicate effects.
