ABSTRACT
Prostate cancer ranks as the second most common in men globally, representing a significant cause of cancer-related mortality. Metastasis, spread cells from primary site to distant organs, remains major challenge managing prostate cancer. Pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase 4 (PDK4) is implicated regulation aerobic glycolysis, emerging potential player various cancers. However, its role unclear. This study aims analyze PDK4 expression and human samples, explore gene's clinical significance. was detected cell lines tissue samples. Migration ability analyzed using Matrigel-coated invasion chambers. Human samples were obtained Kyungpook National University Chilgok Hospital. elevated compared normal cells, with particularly high levels DU145 LnCap lines. knockdown these suppressed their ability, indicating metastasis. Furthermore, our results revealed alterations epithelial-mesenchymal transition markers downstream signaling molecules following suppression, suggesting involvement modulation invasion-related pathways. increased tissues, especially castration-resistant cancer, PSA showing significantly positive correlation. associated tumor castration status. Further validation needed demonstrate effectiveness therapeutic target.
