ABSTRACT
The aim of the present study is to investigate cardioprotective effect lycopene, known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect, in a rat sepsis model induced by lypopolysaccharide (LPS).The oxidative stress parameters, parameters cytokine levels with or without lycopene treatment LPS‑induced septic rats as well controls were measured serum tissue. Histologic examinations cardiac tissues also performed. Kruskal-Wallis Bonferroni-adjusted Mann-Whitney U Test was used analysis. A p value < 0.05 considered significant. The data this showed that pretreatment reduced stres parametersand , proinflammatory cytokines increased antoxidant enzyme activities both rats.. Moreover, hyperaemia haemorrhage epicardium, myocardium endocardium lower pretreated group compared LPS alone group. These results suggest could be beneficial prevention injury caused through reducing (Tab. 4, Fig. 1, Ref. 35).
