ABSTRACT
Objective: To assess the feasibility and safety of magnetic-controlled capsule endoscopy (MCE) system for examination human stomach. Methods: This pilot study enrolled 34 healthy volunteers. All subjects swallowed MCE gas-producing powder gastric distention. An external robot was used to generate magnetic field manipulate inside stomach. The primary measurements included safety, preparation, maneuverability visualization mucosa. Results: Gastric preparation well accepted by there were no adverse events. The in stomach takes 43.8±10.0min(27-60).The cleanliness evaluated as good 30 (88.2%) moderate 4 (11.8%)subjects.The distention cavity 29 (85.3%)subjects 5 (14.7%) subjects.Maneuverability movements guidance magnet graded subjects.More than 75% mucosa visualized 27 (79.4%)subjects 50% 7 (20.6%)subjects.Visualization cardia, fundus, body, angulus, antrum pylorus subjectively assessed complete 82.4%, 85.3%, 100.0%, 100.0% respectively.Polyp erosive lesions found subjects. Conclusion: Magnetic-controlled is feasible safe.
