ABSTRACT
Piriformospora indica association has been reported to increase biotic as well abiotic stress tolerance of its host plants. We analyzed the beneficial effect P. on rice seedlings during high salt conditions (200 and 300 mM NaCl). The growth parameters such root shoot lengths or fresh dry weights were found be enhanced in indica-inoculated compared with non-inoculated control seedlings, irrespective whether they are exposed not. However, salt-stressed performed much better presence fungus seedlings. photosynthetic pigment content [chlorophyll (Chl) a, Chl b, carotenoids] was significantly higher under salt-treated which these pigments decreased. Proline accumulation also observed colonization, may help inoculated plants become tolerant. Taken together, rescues diminution stress.
