ABSTRACT
We report here, the transcriptional regulation of 2 Calcium Dependent Protein Kinases in response to nutrient starvation Chlamydomonas reinhardtii vegetative cells. The CDPK proteins, CDPK1 and CDPK3; share 53% identity among themselves, a maximum 57% 52% higher plants respectively 42% apicomplexan protozoans. expressed CDPK1-GFP fusion protein C. cells showed its distribution both cell body membrane-matrix fraction flagella. exhibits mobility shift presence Ca2+, confirming Ca2+-binding properties. To best our knowledge, this is first CDPKs from unicellular chlorophyte namely acetate (A), phosphorus (P), nitrogen (N).
