ABSTRACT
Scribble is a potential tumor suppressor protein, whose loss frequent event in late stage cancer development. In both Drosophila and mammalian model systems, has been shown capable of regulating cell polarity, proliferation apoptosis. Although several interacting partners, including βPiX, have identified that help to explain how can regulate polarity migration, little known about control proliferation. Recent work from our laboratory directly the ERK signaling pathway. This mediated by direct protein-protein interaction between ERK, which two components. first, appears anchor at membrane-bound sites, with enhancing nuclear translocation. second, decrease levels active phosphorylated function dependent upon ability bind directly. One consequences this activity inhibition EJ-ras induced transformation. These results provide some first mechanistic information on and, furthermore, they indications as identity other intermediates may be recruited mitogenic pathways.
