ABSTRACT
Purpose: Frequent changes in chronic urticaria (CU) activity over time can cause psychological stress, which also serves as a trigger of CU.To measure the control status CU, Urticaria Control Test (UCT) was developed Germany. This study aimed to investigate validity, reliability and responsiveness CU for Korean version UCT (K-UCT) its relation with salivary cortisol cortisone levels. Methods: Linguistic adaptation into conducted.A total 96 patients were enrolled, 80 them completed study. The K-UCT other outcome scores measured repeated after 4 weeks treatment.Control classified by physicians well-controlled, partly-controlled, uncontrolled CU.Salivary liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Results: Excellent internal consistency intra-class obtained.Strong correlations between disease severity, reflected Activity Score (UAS)/global assessment physicians/patient symptom severity/CU-specific quality life noted.K-UCT ≥12 found be optimal determining well-controlled (sensitivity, 75.0%; specificity, 758%; area under curve, 0.824).Perceived stress scale significantly correlated UAS K-UCT.Salivary levels (r = 0.308, P 0.009) differed according determined ≥12.Conclusions: This demonstrated that valid instrument gauge patients.Further studies are needed validate biomarker control.
