ABSTRACT
Although there are many articles about single incision laparoscopic (SIL) hernioplasty, a large-scale study or article its long-term outcome has not been reported yet. The aim of this is to assess short- and outcomes SIL totally extraperitoneal (TEP) hernia repair with large number cases.A prospectively collected database containing details 1,231 procedures in 1,129 consecutive patients who underwent SIL-TEP between June 2010 December 2017 at institution was retrospectively analyzed. performed using glove port device standard instruments. Recurrence rate analyzed by telephone questionnaire.Among patients, 1,027 (91.0%) had unilateral 102 (9.0%) bilateral hernia. There were 12 (1.1%) conversions 3 ports transabdominal preperitoneal hernioplasty Lichtenstein repair. Mean operative time 40.3 minutes for 61.6 Intraoperative complication 21.8%. Most intraoperative complications peritoneum sac tearing (20.1%). Postoperative occurred 97 (8.6%) cases, most which minor morbidity except 1 mesh infection. Five-year recurrence 4%.SIL-TEP safe technically feasible acceptable outcomes. Large-scale randomized controlled trials comparing conventional TEP needed confirm these results.
