Effects of human and organizational deficiencies on workers’ safety behavior at a mining site in Iran

ABSTRACT
OBJECTIVES: Throughout the world, mines are dangerous workplaces with high accident rates.According to Statistical Center of Iran, number occupational accidents in Iranian has increased recent years.This study investigated and analyzed human organizational deficiencies that influenced mining accidents. METHODS:In this study, data associated 305 were using a systems analysis approach identify critical influences, unsafe supervision, preconditions for acts, workers' acts.Partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was utilized model interactions among these deficiencies. RESULTS:Organizational had direct positive effect on violations (path coefficient, 0.16) errors 0.23).The supervision also significant, path coefficients 0.14 0.20, respectively.Likewise, acts significant both 0.21).Moreover, an indirect mediated by acts.Among variables examined current influences strongest impact acts. CONCLUSIONS:Organizational found be main cause sector, as they affected all other aspects system safety.In order prevent accidents, should modified first.
