Faculty Perspective on Interprofessional Education Competencies: Respiratory Therapy Compared to Other Allied Health Professions

ABSTRACT
Interprofessional Education (IPE) provides a framework for collaborative education between health care specialties to improve patient care. In 2010, the Collaborative Expert Panel established competencies of communication, ethics, roles and responsibilities, teams teamwork. Studies have assessed knowledge attitudes about IPE in several allied educational programs including respiratory therapy (RT).We compared RT faculty athletic training (AT), nutrition (NT), occupational (OT), physical (PT), dental hygiene (DH) faculty. Faculty were asked rank according importance.RT ranked communication first, then teamwork, last ethics.
