ABSTRACT
Nitrogen (N) plays a vital role in the productivity of maize (Zea mays L). To investigate fertilizer effects N on yield and growth hybrid variety (Gorilla), experiment was carried out at research farm University Swabi, Pakistan, during summer 2017-18. Four levels (Urea, Urea + Farm Yard Manure (FYM), Compost, Poultry (PM)) were set present study. Randomized complete block design (RCBD) used with split-plot arrangement administering to main plot. Results showed that other traits, i.e. plant height, ear length, weight, kernel yield, kernels ear-1 harvest index (HI) significantly affected by Nitrogen. In current study, maximum performances height (231.46 cm), length (12.17 (434.83), (2095.7 kg·ha-1), total weight (350.75 biomass (4015.3 kg·ha-1) HI (37.31) recorded under treatment UREA PM, followed FYM. Besides, applications organic manure combination nitrogen increased its components. Application 50% poultry produced higher performance for traits ear-1, yield.
