ABSTRACT
The nitriding behavior of cold rolled Fe93Ni4Ti3 specimens was compared with that hot the same materials. Radio frequency (rf) performed for 10 minutes in a 10-2 mbar nitrogen atmosphere. continuous plasma power varied from 300-550 W steps 50 or less. Results optical microscopy (OM), x-ray diffraction (XRD) and microhardness measurements (Hv) are presented discussed regard to influence kind rolling on behavior, particularly nitride formation layer growth mechanical properties. results show remarkable increase diffusivity samples. These best may be attributed enhancement defect and/or compressive stress.
