ABSTRACT
Objective: To detect the prevalence of carbapenem resistance among Gram negative bacilli at Al-Noor Specialist Hospital in western part Saudi Arabia. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted Microbiology department, Hospital, Makah city, The clinical samples were collected from admitted patients wards, Intensive Care Units (ICUs), urology unit surgery unit, these included blood, urine, sputum, pus wound. identification antibiotic susceptibility testing all bacterial isolates performed via Vitek 2 Compact System. Results: Out 4803 isolated, rate 2797/4803 (58.23%), sensitivity 2006/4803 (41.77%) total isolates. to Acinetobacter baumannii 1710 (99.13%), followed by Pseudomonas aeruginosa 575 (62.4%), Klebsiella pneumoniae 459 (38%) Escherichia coli 56 (5.59%). trend 2013-2015 53.99%, 59.88% 61.43% respectively. Conclusion: A. rec-orded, highest through three year, 98.19%, 99.48% 99.81% respectively lowest recorded with E. coli, 4.63%, 5.79% 6.31%
