Indications for Cesarean Section in a Tertiary Center in Togo

ABSTRACT
Objectives: The objective of this study was to evaluate the indications for cesarean section (CS) and some related characteristics in Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital Center Togo. Methods: We analyzed all CS performed from January 1, 2020 December 31, 2020. Results: Total number 8676 women were delivered, which 4583 by (52.8%), emergent vs. planned; 69.6% 30.4%. Acute fetal asphyxia leading indication (25.4%), followed pre-eclampsia/eclampsia (17.3%), pelvic anomalies (12.2%). Analysis showed that 51% cases had definite CS, whereas remaining cases, non-definite-indications. Conclusion: should be done based on indications. must take an effort educate area, which, avoiding unnecessary might reduce rate area.
